LARP — Disclaimer
Last updated: August 20, 2026
This Disclaimer explains what LARP does — and does not — stand behind. It covers the LARP website at larp.global, the LARP iOS app, and the material we publish around them (help articles, marketing pages, emails, and our Instagram and TikTok posts). It is part of, and should be read with, the Terms of Service — in particular §2 (LARP is a marketplace, not a party to your booking), §12 (disclaimers of warranties), §13 (assumption of risk), and §14 (limitation of liability). Where this page and the Terms differ, the Terms govern.
1. Information is provided in good faith — but not warranted
1.1 We publish information about LARP in good faith and for general information only. We do not warrant that it is accurate, complete, current, or error-free. Pages go out of date, features change, and typos happen.
1.2 The numbers that bind your booking are the ones shown to you at checkout and in your booking confirmation — not an example in marketing copy, a help article, or a social post. Pricing on LARP is all-in (our platform fee and card-processing costs are already inside the displayed price, with any location or travel fee shown as its own line item), sessions start at a $180 minimum, and every booking also carries a refundable security deposit. See the Fees & Pricing Policy.
1.3 Any example figures we show — sample session prices, illustrative Owner earnings, typical shoot durations — are illustrations, not offers, quotes, projections, or promises of what you will pay or earn.
2. LARP is a marketplace — we are not a party to your Session
2.1 The Session is a direct arrangement between the Creator and the Owner. LARP provides the platform where they find each other, agree a time, and pay. LARP is not a party to that arrangement, and does not act as anyone's agent.
2.2 LARP does not own, lease, store, operate, inspect, maintain, repair, appraise, or insure any vehicle. LARP does not employ, supervise, train, or direct any Owner or Creator — Owners are independent of LARP — and LARP does not produce, direct, staff, or attend any shoot.
2.3 LARP is not a car-rental company, a peer-to-peer car-sharing program, a for-hire or livery service, a talent or production agency, an insurer, or a broker. Sessions do not involve driving: the car stays parked, the Owner (or their representative) stays with it for the whole Session, and the Owner keeps the keys.
2.4 We do not guarantee that a Session will happen, that either party will show up, or that it will meet your expectations. If it doesn't, the Cancellation & Refund Policy and the Damage, Holds & Disputes Policy set out what happens next.
3. Listings are the Owner's claims — we do not verify them
3.1 Listing content is supplied by the Owner. Photos, year, make, model, trim, engine and horsepower figures, modifications, paint or wrap, mileage, condition, provenance, and the description of the shoot location and what can be photographed there are the Owner's statements. LARP does not author them and does not adopt them.
3.2 How far our checks actually go. Before an Owner can publish a Listing, they complete Stripe Identity verification (government ID plus a live selfie face match), and each vehicle is VIN-verified — the VIN is checked against the Listing's stated year, make, and model, and changing a VIN suspends publishing until it is re-verified. That is the extent of it. See the Identity Verification & Trust Policy.
3.3 What we do not do. We do not physically inspect or road-test any car; we do not dyno-test or otherwise confirm horsepower, torque, performance, or drivetrain claims; we do not confirm originality, numbers-matching status, restoration history, or provenance; we do not appraise value; we do not confirm that photos are recent, unedited, or of that specific car; and we do not confirm that the Owner holds the property rights, permissions, or HOA/landlord approval for the shoot location beyond the Owner's own representation in the Owner / Host Agreement.
3.4 A verified-host badge is identity assurance, not an endorsement of the person, the car, the location, or the Session. Judge a Listing for yourself, ask questions in-app before you book, and if what you find on arrival differs materially from the Listing, do not proceed — message the other party and contact admin@larp.global.
4. Sessions are stationary and in person — you accept that risk
4.1 A Session is a real-world meetup: people, lighting gear, and a high-value vehicle in one place, usually on private property. Ordinary risks come with that — uneven or unlit ground, weather, hot exhaust and bodywork or a running engine if the Owner starts the car, moving parts and closing doors or scissor hinges, cables, stands and tripods, bystanders, pets, and traffic near the property.
4.2 By attending, you voluntarily assume those risks and release LARP, on the terms set out in Terms of Service §13 (Assumption of risk). You are responsible for your own safety and your crew's, and for following the Owner's reasonable instructions and the Community Guidelines.
4.3 Nobody drives, moves, pushes, or rolls the car — not you, not your crew, not your model. That is a core rule of the platform, not a suggestion.
4.4 The Safety & Trust Center offers practical safety guidance. It is guidance, not a guarantee, and following it does not make a Session safe or make LARP responsible for one.
5. No insurance, and no host guarantee
5.1 LARP provides no insurance — not for the car, the location, the participants, the crew, the equipment, or the Content produced. There is no LARP host guarantee, damage-protection plan, or vehicle-value coverage.
5.2 Owners are responsible for their own insurance appropriate to hosting a stationary, on-camera commercial use of their car (see the Owner / Host Agreement). Creators and their productions are responsible for their own production insurance, releases, clearances, and permits (see Content & Releases).
5.3 The security deposit is not insurance. The refundable deposit (2× the session price, minimum $200, maximum $2,000) is charged with the session price, and is refunded automatically about 6 hours after the Session completes — the Owner has the first 5 hours after completion to open a damage claim, and an open claim pauses the refund until it resolves. It is a limited deposit mechanism under the Damage, Holds & Disputes Policy. It is not a coverage limit, not a measure of anyone's liability, and not a promise that a claim will be paid. LARP is a non-controlling intermediary in that process, not an insurer or adjudicator; anything beyond the deposit is between the Owner and the Creator.
6. Nothing here is professional advice
6.1 Nothing on LARP is legal, tax, accounting, insurance, appraisal, or safety-engineering advice, and no attorney–client or other professional relationship is created by using LARP or reading our material.
6.2 That includes anything we publish about model and property releases, commercial-use rights, permits, and copyright; about income taxes, Form 1099-K, or marketplace-facilitator tax collection; and about whether hosting or shooting is compatible with your own auto, homeowner's, business, or production policy, lease, loan, or HOA rules. Those depend on your circumstances and on where you are. Consult your own attorney, tax advisor, or insurance broker before relying on any of it.
7. External links and third-party services are not endorsements
7.1 LARP links to and relies on third parties — Stripe (payments, payouts, and Stripe Identity), Google and Apple sign-in, the App Store, mapping and geocoding services, and our own Instagram and TikTok channels. Users may also post links in Listings, profiles, or messages.
7.2 We do not control those destinations and do not endorse them, their content, their products, or their accuracy. Their own terms and privacy practices apply when you use them. Following a link is at your own risk. The service providers we rely on to run LARP are listed in the Privacy Policy.
8. No affiliation with vehicle manufacturers
LARP is not affiliated with, sponsored by, endorsed by, or authorized by any vehicle manufacturer, dealer, importer, tuner, or motorsport organization. Marque names, model names, badges, and logos appear in Listings and in user-supplied photos to identify the cars being photographed; they remain the property of their respective owners, and their appearance on LARP implies no association, licence, or approval.
9. Reviews and testimonials are individual experience
9.1 LARP has two-sided reviews: after a completed Session, the Owner and the Creator rate each other. Those reviews are written by users, not by LARP. We do not fact-check them, and they are not our statements. We moderate them against the Community Guidelines — fake, dishonest, or abusive reviews come down — but moderation is not verification.
9.2 A rating, a review, a featured story, or a testimonial reflects one person's experience of one Session. It is not typical results, not representative of every Session on LARP, and not a prediction of your own experience, your shoot outcome, your earnings, or your booking volume.
10. Availability, errors, and changes
10.1 The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" (see Terms of Service §12). They may be interrupted, delayed, or unavailable, and features, prices, supported cities, and policies can change.
10.2 LARP is offered in the United States only, and our mobile app is currently iOS — there is no Android app yet. Availability of any Listing, city, or feature is not a promise that it will stay available.
10.3 You must be 18 or older to use LARP.
11. Your rights under California law
Nothing in this Disclaimer limits or waives any right or remedy that cannot be limited or waived under California law or other applicable law, and nothing here excludes liability for fraud, gross negligence, or willful misconduct where applicable law does not permit that exclusion. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers or limitations, so parts of this page may not apply to you. This Disclaimer is governed by California law, and disputes are handled under the arbitration terms in Terms of Service §17.
